NOAA Hacked by Chinese Hackers

The NOAA has confirmed that its weather tracking systems have been hacked by Chinese hackers. Several data centers that were part of the nations disaster response system were hacked and brought down. Additionally several sites were taken over by the unidentified Chinese hackers. The NOAA says the hacks did not bring them down or cause any serious damage, stating that even will they were being hacked they were able to perform their duties. The attack was quote “web based” and was quarantined as soon as it was discovered. No sensitive data is believed to have been leaked.

iPhone 6 fingerprint scanner still vulnerable

CNET found that Apple had not increased its security with the latest iteration of the iPhone 6’s fingerprint scanner. They were able to use fake finger prints to get into the iPhone just like they did with the iPhone 5. The technique ot create these fingerprints is very simple and anyone could do it in an afternoon with a single print of the target.
